Maes y Droell Quarry, Graianrhyd Road, Near Mold. CH7 4BL
An application is proposed to be submitted by Silica Sand Mold Limited in respect of the above site for:
"Recommencement of mineral extraction involving the winning and working of high-grade industrial sand from a previously operational quarry that has lay dormant for several years, incorporating a previously consented northern extension, utilising modern plant, equipment, and working practices.
The progressive restoration of the quarry will commence from the outset of the recommencement of work. Restoration will involve the creation and management of a range of habitats to support an abundance of species. This will occur as phases of the quarry are completed and is therefore progressive. On final restoration, the former quarry would be an established site of high nature conservation importance subject to appropriate aftercare management secured by planning conditions."
The application is supported by a full suite of documents including an Environmental Statement (ES). The ES is summarised in the provided Non Technical Summary.
